Did you ever think about this constantly made, but wrong, charge: Republicans, Conservatives, hate poor people and love rich people?

If most people are not rich (the 99%?), isn’t it safe to say most voters are not rich? Why, then, supposedly, court only a small block of voters (the 1%?) when in elections the person with the most votes wins?
